Can I use fresh instead of dried cherries in cookie recipe? - dried cherry pie recipe

I have a tree full of cherries, so I want to use. I'm not a pastel person. But I found a recipe for soft chocolate cookie that 2 / 3 cup dried cherries requires. Can I subsutuite free? Otherwise, someone there a recipe that uses sour cherries and fresh cake is not a recipe.
